Hands-on and Accessible Science-Technology Projects for All Learners
KitHub is heading into its 5th year of providing hands-on science and technology projects to schools, libraries, out of school organizations, families, hobbyists, research institutes, and governments.
Since the day we launched, our vision of a worldwide community of learners that are interested in solving real-world problems using science and technology continues to drive our mission to design and curate effective hands-on education and environmental monitoring programs that are accessible to everyone.
All of the projects we provide have been a result of feedback from our customers. Over the course of the past year, we asked you, our current and potential customers from around the world, what projects you are most interested in learning and teaching to others.
You told us that in addition to expanding the creative STEAM programs for educators, you want projects that focus on one of the most pressing and critical issues that all of us face today, environmental pollution.
Environmental Monitoring and Assessment
Everyone has the right to monitor and understand their environment and how it affects their health and wellbeing, but public monitoring devices are either not available, not close enough to home, school and the workplace, or the data is not shared in an easily understood format.
There are devices on the market that monitor pollution, but many of them are not research quality, and worse, many are no better than a fashion accessory. We want to change that.
Environmental monitoring aligns with our company values, the work we have been doing with our partner Safecast and their radiation monitoring device, as certified teachers with GLOBE and in keeping with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.
In the coming year we will be releasing projects that include pollutant and nature monitoring and with our signature kit design of everything ready-to-go out-of-the-box and easy to follow instructions and lesson plans.
Input From Customers
These are some of the highlights after reviewing customer feedback:
Air Quality Monitoring
Nature Monitoring (trees and plants)
Soil Measurements (moisture and pH)
Elementary School Teachers
Water Quality Monitoring
Weather and Climate Data
"I'm a resident in an area with regular wildfires and even more regular controlled burns. Me and my neighbors' sinuses are getting worse year by year. We need to know when to stay inside."
