Covers All Aspects of S-T-E-A-M

At first I didn't think that building a game button would cover all aspects of STEAM, but boy was I wrong. Students learned about electronic circuits, designed a game show box, wrote up game questions, kept track of points and some even hooked up their button to a Makey Makey where they had coded their own point calculator. Every game was different which made it really fun for the students to play each others' games.

Instructables Teachers Contest

We're Having A FanGirl Moment

Have you ever had the experience of idolizing a person or a company and then getting to meet or work with them? We're having that moment right now. We've been fans of Instructables for a very long time. It's the first place we go for inspiration, what's trending in the world of DIY, and most importantly, where we learn how to make stuff. If you have read any of KitHub's newsletters, you probably clicked on an Instructables link.

It is our great pleasure to announce that we have joined up with Instructables to provide prizes for their first ever Teachers Contest. We feel so fortunate to have this opportunity to support a platform that we whole-heartedly endorse, and to support the community of teachers that we strive to support every day.

Teachers + Instructables = <3

We are ecstatic that Instructables is reaching out to teachers and recognizing that they are a community that learns and shares together and passes that knowledge on to the kids that they work with. Instructables really is a perfect platform for educators to showcase their projects and share openly with others.

Whether you are new to Instructables, or an expert, all educators are welcome to enter.

It's going to be really exciting to watch the contest entries roll in on the Instructables site. We hope that you are as excited as we are and plan to enter!

Incorporate STEAM into your projects for the @Instructables Teachers Contest to win a special prize from @kithub!

Here in Los Angeles and cities across America, some students are heading back to school and others don't start until after Labor Day. The latter have a couple more weeks of freedom to explore their interests, daydream, or design the Minecraft house of their dreams.

Here at KitHub, we believe that kids should be free to follow their interests no matter what time of year it is, and especially at school. That's why we designed our hands-on STEAM kits, so whether students' interests lie in art, electronics or science, something about the project is bound to pique their interest AND we made it really easy for an educator to facilitate the projects.

I've used this kit with students as young as 4.5 y/o and students in upper elementary (gr. 3-5) and it has served me well. I'm not a trained engineer, nor did I major in the STEM fields and I can successfully teach an inquiry-based lesson that discusses the very basics of electrical engineering and circuits thanks to the excellent, detailed lesson plan provided.

Open The Box And Go!

Introducing science and technology into the classroom can be challenging, especially if you are limited by time and budget.

All of our kits come with student instruction cards, lesson plans and printables, so all you as an educator have to do is open the box, handout the pre-packed part bags* and instructions cards to the students, and follow the lesson plan.

The projects are open-ended, so if you want to associate a project with a theme, or encourage your students to do something completely different with the materials, that's A-OK!
