Squishy Circuits Kit - KitHub

Squishy Circuits Kit

"Squishy circuits" fits squarely into the creative electronics category. It combines a common art material, play dough, with electronics so that kids can figure out how to make circuits in a way that's fun and familiar.

I like this project for at home or in a workshop because it incorporates a lot of smaller activities: making the play dough, molding the play dough into an object or design, adding the electronics and troubleshooting.

Age: 5+
Skill Level: Beginner
Note: Under 10 will require assistance from an adult.
Concepts Explored:

  • Simple or Basic Circuits
  • Parallel Circuits
  • Series Circuits
  • Motor Circuit

Safety: These activities are designed such that the dough is used to connect components. Never connect components, such as LEDs, directly to the battery pack, as running too much current through components can damage them, possibly causing them to overheat or pop
